I have been on a bracelet and necklace making "kick" this week! I have found oodles of old necklaces that were calling out to me to change them up a bit. Here a some pictures of my creations this week. They are colorful, fun, one of a kind, and big time bead-uh-licious!

Today I worked on some resin jewelry. I have tried this before, but failed miserably! They should be ready tomorrow, so I hope to be back with pictures of awesome looking resin pieces! If not, it is back to the "drawing board."

I intended on adding new items to the new website this week, but life happens, and hence no new goodies there! I am hoping for a better week coming up though!

What I have made this week....

I have been going through some of my flea markets "treasures" this week and have unearthed some old beaded necklaces and bracelets. What did I do with those? I have made NEW bracelets out of them. Take a peek here, they will be for sale on the website this week. Also I have made some funky recycled bracelets out of fabric and used shipping tape rolls! How is that for recycling?

Meet and Greet....Brenda of Naughty and Nice Lingerie!

What kind of business do you own?

I own a fabulous lingerie store on Ebay located at

How did you get started in your business?

I kind of jumped in feet first, without much of a plan. Family obligations forced me to make a decision to buy a home that O wasn't entirely ready to take on. However, I did and needed to find another source of income. I had always wanted to sell lingerie, and had a lot of knowledge in the area, so I decided to go ahead and get a jump on my future! I was a little stressed one night after paying bills, and Googled lingerie on my computer. before I knew it, I charged $7000.00 of lingerie on my credit card and Naughty and Nice Lingerie was born!

Who inspires you?

Gosh...that is a hard question! I don't have one source of inspiration! I admire characters and accomplishments. When I see successful women, I get inspired. When I read success stories, I get inspired. When I watch a movie with a "happy ending," I get inspired! So I get inspired from many different things and I try not to let any negativity drain my energy.

What are your goals with your business-5 years down the road?

I want my business to be a household name! I want my store name to appear on billboards! I want women to be able to talk about my store and say, "Yeah I love that store!" I want to not only gain new clients, but I would like to gather new friends! If, God Forbid, I wasn't able to work at my current full time job, that I would still be able to live very comfortably from selling lingerie!

Do you work outside the home?

Yes, I work for the City government full time.

What groups online/offline do you belong to?

I belong to so many groups..most are online. I belong to the National Hispanic Sales Network, about 12 Ebay groups, about 3 yahoo groups, and loads of networking groups and fan pages and so on! I have my own Ebay Lingerie group named "Addicted To Lingerie." If you love lingerie like I do, consider joining my group:

Any additional information you would like to share?

I offer fast free shipping (within the USA), dollar rewards and free gifts with multi item purchases! So stock up on fabulous foundations for the everyday, or that special occasion.
I always love to make new friends. Please check out and follow my blog: I would also like facebook fans:

I don't mind answering questions, so if you have any questions about lingerie or need any help, please check out my Ebay guides: or feel free to email me at Thanks again and have a wonderful day!

Meet and Greet....Jean May Originals!

What kind of business do you own?

100% Handmade Fashion Accessories, Home Decor, Soaps & More! At JMO you'll find handcrafted jewelry, crocheted hats, scarves, purses and pillows, handmade cold process soap, hand-poured candles, hand-dipped incense, and recipes are currently being tested for edible treats!

How did you get started in your business?

I started making stretch bracelets purely for fun, when ladies started buying them right off my wrist. Soon they were asking me to design custom jewelry pieces. Then I taught myself to crochet, people took notice and again started requesting custom pieces. It was then that I decided to turn my hobby into a business, and Jean May Originals was born.

Who inspires you?

All the other indie artisans out there who create beautiful works of art with their own two hands. The thought, care, and love that goes into each and every handcrafted piece cannot be matched by a machine made, mass-produced item.

What are your goals with your business-5 years down the road?

My goal is to continue building the JMO brand and take it globally.

Do you work outside the home?

I do, as a Legal Assistant in downtown Chicago. For now. :)

What groups online/offline do you belong to?

I belong to a few wonderful groups of smart, independent, beautiful women (one has men, too)....The Support System, Sassy Sisters in Sales, Mom Pack, Homegrown Handmade, Pizza and Possibilities, to name just a few!

Any additional information you would like to share?

If you have a dream of owning your own business, go for it! It may not be easy, but it's so worth it. You only get out of it what you put in. The only thing that stands in your way of success is you!

7 Random Things About Me (thank you, Aimee!)

My friend and the owner of Shake Your Bon Bons, Aimee, "tagged" me to answer 7 random things about me, so here we go!

1. I am full of useless trivia-ask me about the Pittsburgh Steelers, hair bands of the 80s and I will probably know it! ;)

2. Both my daughter and I are named after family members-both first and middle names

3. I am self-conscious about my handmade goodies!

4. I still have my Strawberry Shortcake dolls and Cabbage Patch Kids from my childhood as well as other toys!

5. I would like a tattoo of the Steelers logo on my ankle, but too chicken to have it done!

6. I am a procrastinator at times! (hey, I am working on improving in this area!)

7. I also still have my Skid Row record from way back when-yes a RECORD!! LOL

silly, ain't I?

Morgan's Recycled Project for school

Morgan has a recycling project for school this week, so we made a doll out of a used dish washing liquid bottle. We put an old sock over it for the dress, old beads I no longer used for a necklace, a wooden spoon for the head- with some googly eyes, pom-pom nose and a pipe-cleaner mouth. Her hair is pink yarn-she kind of reminds me of a girl "Beaker" from the Muppet Show . Here's a picture of it, enjoy!

First post of the New Year

Well the holidays are over and I am looking forward to 2009. I do not do resolutions, because I usually forget about them after a couple of weeks. I do hope to be more successful in my jewelry making and selling this year, as well as my knitting adventures. My knitting blog is here: I hope everyone has a wonderful 2009!
